Buni TV also supports independent producers of content by offering terms that are much more respectful of their work than the ones imposed by television stations on the continent.

ONCE UPON A TIME IN AFRICA (WORKING TITLE)

Once Upon A Time In Africa (working title) is Buni's upcoming pan-African children puppet show. Currently in development, the program will follow the adventures of four bright and curious 11-year-olds from the four corners of the continent (Kenya, South Africa, Senegal, and Egypt) as they travel back in time to prevent the precious tales of Africa's ancient past from disappearing into oblivion.

Throughout their journey, the four children will be guided by a mysterious old "teacher" who will provide much-needed factual and historical background. The children will encounter real, colorful historical characters. They will have to face challenges, and they will learn lessons -- on the role of education, conflict resolution, leadership, the place of women in society, political compromise, corruption, harmony between cultures or respect of the environment -- that will make them grow from one episode to the next.

THE XYZ SHOW

The XYZ Show is Africa's first ever puppet political satire. This groundbreaking program is followed by more than 8 million viewers in Kenya and abroad on television, radio, commuter buses, internet and mobile. It attracts tens of thousands of fans on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and on its official website www.xyzshow.com

Every week XYZ's cast of latex characters challenges the local and international politico-social elite with wit and gusto, and nothing is off-limits. Inspired by the French "Guignols de l'Info" and the British "Spitting Image", XYZ can also be described as "The Daily Show" with latex puppets (and without John Stewart).

AFRICANISM 101

Africanism 101 (in production) is a series of documentaries that take a focused and satirical look at various political, economical and social issues that have an impact on African society today.

Through the extensive use of research, archives, graphics and animations as well as fresh footage and interviews with experts from the East African region, AFRICANISM 101 will provide an in-depth analysis on topics such as Citizens' Involvement, Land & Conflict, or Tribalism.

Africanism 101 is being directed by Titus Maina and produced by Ronald Mackio.

"CRISIS!... WHAT CRISIS?"

"Crisis…! What Crisis?" is a collection of Gado's (Godfrey Mwampembwa) best cartoons from the 2006-2011 period, enriched by anecdotes about his experience as an editorial cartoonist and political commentator.

IT'S A MADD, MADD WORLD

It's a Madd, Madd World" is an anthology of cartoonist Paul "Madd" Kelemba's long-running column. MMW first appeared in the Daily Nation in 1989 as a black and white strip at the bottom of the letters page and was meant to look at some "crazy" happenings in life. Since then it has developed gradually into a very popular full page, full color composite feature in The Standard's Saturday edition.

"I rely a lot on contributions from readers who, for years, have sent in anecdotes that I illustrate. But, as a "man about town", I also collect from social places. Some fans are even "scared" of me when I turn up somewhere – I'm always armed with a notebook and a cell phone camera. For me, MMW has to be interactive. The reader is a very important and integral part of the product." - Madd
